| The NE quadrant (outlined in yellow) has been flipped (not “mirror imaged”) to lie in juxtaposition to the in situ SE ring quadrant. Weisman, et al have maintained (their caption, Figure 1) that there is a shift “from small to large basins (in the north half) to large to small basins (in the south half)” - which characterization is just totally unclear to me. Carr, et al (p. 278) have maintained there is a “patterning…of basins…reversed on northern and southern halves of the Circle, giving the impression of a mirror image” but no such “patterning” is here evident to me. Weisman, et al, ibid. do state that “the exact pattern of holes in the southeast quadrant is obscured by natural erosion, incomplete excavation, and the backhoe trench and septic tank pit.” - which seems readily apparent.
