NOTE: This site is currently under construction (01/05/06). I was a re-enactor blackpowder cannoneer aboard "Rose" back during the Bi-Centennial Years off the New England coast. We had many adventures and lots of fun. But basically "Rose" and her operators proved quite insensitive to the golden opportunity she presented for serious "living history" investigations. Coupled with dubious seamanship and haphazard Quarterdeck Command on numerous occasions, it is only luck that "Rose" did not get into much more serious trouble at the time. I was witness to much of this, and moreover have stored film and graphics (elsewhere) to substantiate my claims. Since this side of the "Rose" saga has never been told before, I feel it is a tale long overdue. As I retrieve my stored files here - I shall share them with you! Meanwhile, please enjoy the several postings here - which are by way of explaining what's to come and for your present entertainment. As I say, hopefully when I can get to my real-life graphics again, most of these will be dropped and the actual scenes substituted. (And please indulge the temporary white-on-black text of many following slides: they come from a previously prepared Powerpoint presentation where they are quite sharp and clear -but they do not transfer well here. Most of these w-on-b slides will be removed once the actual images in my stored collection become available...)
